Flammability Performance According to UL94

This standard was originally developed in the United States for testing plastics used in electrical devices. Today, however, it is widely used around the world to classify the flammability and fire safety of plastics.

UL 94 Fire Protection Classes:

  • V-2 Self‑extinguishing within 30 seconds; burning drips are permitted
  • V-1 Self‑extinguishing within 30 seconds; burning drips are not permitted
    Maximum afterglow: 60 seconds
  • V-0 Self‑extinguishing within 10 seconds; burning drips are not permitted
    Maximum afterglow: 30 seconds
