Maximum surface quality for door intercom systems: Siedle Vario sets new standards in building communication

The customer: Siedle – Europe’s quality leader in building communication

Siedle is one of the leading manufacturers of building communication systems in Germany and Europe. The company stands for innovative door communication technology with the highest quality standards. The product at the center of this project is the Siedle Vario door intercom system – a classic known for its flexibility, modern design, and technological excellence.

The challenge: meeting the highest surface‑quality requirements under extreme conditions

The core challenge was to meet exceptionally high requirements for functional reliability and surface quality. Siedle’s door intercom systems must withstand a wide range of stress tests – including hammer impact tests, water immersion, salt spray tests, UV exposure, as well as electrical and acoustic testing.
A flawless, durable surface was essential for subsequent finishing processes such as painting, coating, or chrome plating.

The solution: perfect plastics processing for immaculate surfaces in door intercom systems

Through precise material selection – PC, ASA, and ABS plastics – combined with a sophisticated injection‑molding process, the required surface quality could be ensured. The amorphous structure of these plastics results in low post‑shrinkage and minimal warpage, while their excellent flow properties enable the production of large, high‑quality visible parts. Supporting filling simulations during tool design, targeted temperature control, and optimal gate positioning were key contributors to success. The result: visible components with outstanding surface quality that meet all requirements for high‑end surface finishing.
