Transparency refers to the light transmission or clarity of a material, such as plastic. It is divided into three categories:
- Opaque: The plastic is non‑transparent and does not allow light to pass through.
- Translucent / semi‑transparent: The plastic allows light to pass through, but the light is scattered, so objects behind it appear blurred or cannot be recognized at all.
- Crystal‑clear: The plastic is transparent and allows light to pass through clearly – similar to glass.
