Density (specific mass, mass density) is the ratio of a body’s mass to its volume. Density is determined according to DIN 53 479.
A common method for determining the density of semi‑finished products and molded parts is the buoyancy method (Method A). The test specimen is weighed once in air and once while suspended in a test liquid of known density. The density of the specimen is then calculated from the difference in weight.
