A polymer blend, or simply blend, refers to a molecularly distributed or microscopically dispersed plastic alloy. In other words, it is a mixture of at least two base polymers. The goal of blend technology is to combine the advantages of different base polymers into a single material. In some cases, synergistic effects even occur. A well‑known blend with such a synergistic effect is Bayblend (PC+ABS), a common material for housings.
