The challenge

Prototype housing component in the exhaust aftertreatment sector – extreme wall thicknesses and differences in wall thickness, very high requirements in terms of dimensional stability (warpage and shrinkage), surfaces with a high glass fibre-filled material.

The solution

Plastic-metal hybrid component with plug contacts which, due to the wide variety of variants and small quantities, are inserted into interchangeable cassettes and overmoulded by hand, tool design for variants and corresponding tool surface design to protect the contact surfaces.
