ATMOS MedizinTechnik is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of intuitive suction and drainage systems for surgery and care, comprehensive workstation solutions for ENT and gynaecology as well as workflow-oriented practice and clinic equipment.

The challenge

Housing for a mobile wound care unit – a wide range of variants and different quantities, very high demands for surface quality and chemical resistance to cleaning agents in the medical technology sector. Multi-component product with overmoulding of the viewing window and the white base component with a transparent material to create a depth effect and an easy-to-clean surface without edges or corners. The material is selected with regard to chemical resistance and adhesion to the base body.

The solution

This component can be produced economically thanks to the involvement in the development phase of the component for material selection, the plastic-compatible and mould-technical design for a multi-component process (insertion and overmoulding) with suitable process control. The selected material and the edgeless surface on the plastic component are essential for cleaning the device for use in medical technology.
